Experience the Power of Live Orchestral Music!

South Bend Youth Symphony Orchestras — Fall Concert

Sunday, November 22, 2026 | 4:00 PM

Join the South Bend Youth Symphony Orchestras (SBYSO) for an inspiring afternoon of live orchestral music as more than 130 talented young musicians take the stage for the first full-length concert of the 2026–27 season!

Featuring powerful symphonic masterpieces, expressive melodies, and the remarkable talent of young musicians from across northern Indiana and southwest Michigan, this concert promises an unforgettable musical experience for audiences of all ages.

The afternoon opens with the Concert Orchestra, conducted by Zac Coudret, performing a diverse program of orchestral favorites and evocative works, including:

• Haydn/Isaac — Symphony No. 88
• Barnes — Yorkshire Ballad
• Wagner — Ancient Echoes of Time

The Symphony Orchestra, SBYSO’s advanced ensemble, takes the stage under the direction of Dr. Robert Boardman for a thrilling program featuring two monumental works: the first movement of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 and Beethoven’s dramatic Leonore Overture No. 3.

The Symphony Orchestra will also feature David Polaniecki, winner of the 2025–26 SBYSO Concert Competition, performing Paul Hindemith’s deeply expressive Trauermusik—a special opportunity to experience an outstanding young soloist alongside the full orchestra.

With musicians ages 10–18 representing a ten-county region, SBYSO celebrates the dedication, artistry, and passion of the next generation of classical musicians. Come experience the energy of a live performance and discover what these extraordinary young artists can accomplish together. SBYSO thanks our season sponsor, Indiana Trust Wealth Management, as well as the Community Foundation of Saint Joseph County and the Indiana Arts Commission, for their support.

We invite you to join us for an afternoon of inspiring music and outstanding young talent.
