She began her journey at Andrews on May 30, 1995, in the School of Education, bringing with her valuable experience from large law firms in Chicago. What began as a professional transition soon became a lifelong calling.

Serving initially as executive secretary for graduate programs, Anna developed a deep appreciation for graduate education and the systems that help students succeed. Along the way, she pursued her own education, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration and later a master’s degree in nutrition and wellness. Throughout her career, Anna faithfully supported graduate students, faculty and administrators in roles including graduate services coordinator and accreditation, assessment, and graduate records officer, contributing to key initiatives such as CAEP accreditation. Most recently, Anna served with the Global Leadership Institute, supporting leadership development in a mission-centered environment.

As she retires, Anna does so with gratitude for the friendships, faith and community that have shaped her journey. Come celebrate Anna’s years of service to Andrews University on Feb. 5 from 4:30–6:30 p.m. in the Lincoln/Hoosier rooms on the second floor of the Campus Center.
Thu, Feb 05, 2026 04:30 pm -0500 Retirement Celebration for Erich Baumgartner https://www.andrews.edu/agenda/68779
Dr. Erich Baumgartner is retiring after more than four decades of service in pastoral ministry, mission, leadership education and global leadership development. Since 1994, Andrews University has been his professional home, where he has helped prepare missionaries and leaders through the Institute of World Mission and, later, the School of Leadership. His work has included launching Passport to Mission, supporting innovation in the Leadership Program, serving as senior editor of the Journal of Applied Christian Leadership, and helping establish the Global Leadership Institute and LeadLab.

In retirement, Erich looks forward to time with family, good food and continued reflection on God’s work among leaders worldwide.
