When educators and other employees recognize that their activities contribute to the education of students, the well-being of families and service to the community, the work is perceived as part of a mission.

This was the main reflection of a research study presented on July 21 during the 42nd Standing Conference on Organizational Symbolism (SCOS 2026), held in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. The event brought together researchers from more than 15 countries to discuss how sacred, spiritual values and symbolic practices participate in the life of organizations.

The study of 338 professionals was developed by Danilo Carvalho dos Santos, Eduardo Lopes dos Santos and Fábio Vinícius de Macedo Bergamo, and asked participants to rate the extent to which they believed their daily tasks improved the lives of others. The study then examined how this perception related to their professional experience.

The research originated from D. Santos' master's thesis, developed in the master's degree in leadership at Andrews University, in the United States.

<<< Read the full story at the Adventist News Network site >>>
Thu, 06 Aug 2026 09:18:56 +0000 Over 260 Bible Instructors Receive Certification http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/69526
A total of 268 participants from 23 districts of the Central South Chile Conference (ACSCh) received certification from the Bible Instructor Program. Fueled by faith and hard work, she not only completed high school in two years but did so with honors.

Life would later cause her to pause again, but Dyer never lost sight of the dream God had planted in her heart. Four years after high school, she enrolled in college.

A single mother, hit hard by divorce and illness, Dyer earned her bachelor’s degree the same day as her daughter. Balancing coursework with a full-time job once again, she went on to earn an MBA and a post-graduate diploma.

But on Sabbath, May 9, that dream came full circle.

Standing before the congregation at All Nations church in Berrien Springs, Dyer testified to God’s faithfulness—a journey that culminated in one of the greatest milestones of her life: a Doctor of Philosophy in higher education administration from Andrews University. Across five grueling years as an international student, the Jamaican native maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA, supported by sponsors, mentors, friends and family.

<<< Read the full story at the Lake Union Herald site >>>
Thu, 06 Aug 2026 09:03:46 +0000 Eau Claire SDA Church Service, Aug. 8 http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/69512
Susan Payne is the speaker at the Eau Claire Seventh-day Adventist Church this Saturday.
